Halifax had it's home opener for the CPL Canadian Premier League today, May 4th, 2019. And it was an excellent soccer match between HFX Wanderers and Forge FC visiting from Hamilton, ON.

Check out the Halifax Wanderers in their home opener as they won 2-1 over Forge FC with goals from Trinidadian Akeem Garcia and the Columbian striker Luis Alberto Perea.
Kadell Thomas scored for Forge FC and looked a threat all game.
Akeem Garcia's goal was setup by a foul won by Kodai Iida who also took the free kick.
Kyle “Red Card” Bekker nearly put one in but it went off the crossbar.
It was a raucous game and the Halifax “kitchen party” was in full-effect creating one of the leagues most intense arenas to play in.
The Wanderers now switch focus to Investors Group Field for a visit to take on Valour FC on May 11 (3:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. AT, OneSoccer), while Forge FC return home to host Pacific FC at Tim Hortons Field on May 8 (7:00 p.m. ET, OneSoccer).
